This was my Saturday project: It's a mix of the 70's and Picasso. Not quite what I was going for. I'm still learning how to make my aquatints not too dark. I'm embarrassed to tell you also that the image was inspired from a photo of a great grandmother, a horrible resemblance I know. This was a little collaborative class project. I enjoyed making the sparkly skirt. And yes, that is a lock of my own hair in there. This mixed-media piece was made on a piece of aluminum for a show in NY or something, where they put the art in a plastic sleeve and it will go on display like that, passed around in a binder. Interesting....kind of weird...
I have finally managed to make a soft and moist cake in this altitude. It's white cake with raspberry filling and 7 minute frosting! Yum.

Lastly, for all you curly tops out there, may I recommend Paul Mitchell's "Round Trip." Bring back those baby locks! (I had ringlets as a child for those of you who don't remember.) It makes soft natural looking curls (never crunchy). Just put it in after the shower, dry it with a diffuser, and you've got rad hair in seconds! (see photo: radness)
