Emily Fox, Installation from UVU Artist Series on Vimeo.
this came out today! in case you didn't get enough of my MFA installation, here is more. Can I just say it's embarrassing to watch yourself on camera and listen to your voice, and then why didn't anyone tell me I had some weird hair going on. Oh well! Good job to Scott, Travis, and Adam for making this!

Back to Bellingham
Season of the rhodies, rhodendrons, that is!
It felt so good to be back to my west coast roots this week, "unfettered and alive" as the Indigo Girls sing. Lissa picked me up Monday night in Seattle from the airport and drove us up the coast to our beloved Bellingham. We were lucky for a week of sunshine and that fresh aromatic sea air.
Highlights included:
visiting all my favorite eats, walking around downtown, biking to Boulevard Park, visiting the Institute and it's staples: Brother Nelson and Sister Dickey, handing out bread at the food bank one afternoon, visiting long lost friends (see pictures below), stopping in at the Three Trees Coffeehouse where Lauren got her first gig, talking current events with Eric and Lissa in the evenings, meeting with Terry of SWAN about my trip to Bolivia this summer, and spending the last day with Campbell in Seattle. It was superb! Thanks to Eric and Lissa for having me. :)
Banditos Burritos: me pretending "I really can't believe I just ate all that food," when I knew I could do it all along. The Three Trees Coffeehouse featured live music from "Out of the Ashes," a music group for people with disabilities. Their motto: "Connecting hearts and souls to the eternal magic of music." so precious.
Lissa sitting pretty at Boulevard Park.
A joyful reunion of the Emily's at Village Books.
Whatcom Falls park, a five minute walk from Eric and Lissa's place.
Lissa in a reverie?
Enoch and Shaun Weldon
Mrs. Weldon (also goes by Lindsay), the fabulous entertainer, hostess, and now mother. I think she is imparting some sassy snippet of advice in this photo, she is so good at that. :)
The delicious meal by Lindsay: lettuce wraps, in case you can't tell.
Campbell took me to Golden Gardens Park in Seattle, one of the few beaches there. So fun! (No, that is not him with the binoculars.)
Next time I go to Bellingham I hope it's to move there, as Lissa and I made elaborate plans about how we are going to raise our families there and be neighbors. :)
somewhat related to that last statement, I watched this movie with C and his mother, so cute!
